I wonder -- has anyone seen any of "the greats" show their first beads? I know Corina Tettinger has, and the lovely Z-Beads recently did. But anyone else? I'd love to know and to see?
Want to see mine? I despair of every being anything other than a Spacer Queen, but head to Watch Me Create to see what I've done.
Your first beads look great - and I'm going to post my first beads just to prove it you! The second (of two) lampwork classes I took, the teacher made us do the 100 spacers and I think it's a great excercise. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI think they look great! I'd absolutely use them in projects:) Lampwork is something I want desperately to learn, but haven't had to the guts to start. So I cheer wildly for your first attempts! :)
ReplyDeleteYour beads look great! Keep them around to refer to when you become an expert, they will remind you of where you started and how far you have come! I don't know if I will get past those first ones--I don't have a torch at home to play with and wish I had more time to get to the arts center. I posted my first beads on a post a while ago. Keep going, you are inspiring me to get back to it!
ReplyDeleteI think they look smashing. It's important to document the first of anything. So, you've got an independent heat souce in the studio now, right?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a great. But, I did document my beginnings. Here are some pics. http://glassbyjennifer.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2007-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-08%3A00&updated-max=2008-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-08%3A00&max-results=15
ReplyDeleteAs ugly as those babies are, I'm quite proud of them. #1) I didn't burn the house down. #2) I didn't injure myself #3) I played with a gas torch!!! and survived!
Your first beads are beautiful! Don't forget to save them. You get ideas for later.
