Aaaaand, this is what happens when you clip the beginning of a spool of aluminum wire without holding onto it.

  1. It must have been frustrating but it looks really cool. I wonder if you can use the globe to your advantage?

  2. Just give ya a little tip, it'll happen with copper too...I really hate it when I'm in a hurry and forget to hold on....lol Then again, if I'm not in a hurry, there is something zen about fixing a huge coil mess.
    I know, I need a life....

  3. Haha, I do that ALL the time. I never learn :-) I think I have the same plastic compartment box by the way, I always stock up on those when I'm in the US. I love them!

  7. Oooohhhh....that made me laugh this morning. It somehow seems very, very symbolic of trying anything new. (I should post more pictures of my toasted polymer clay wrecks.)

  8. It actually looks like a pretty cool wire globe sculpture...maybe you should just leave it as decoration and clip off pieces as needed! lol.

  9. I've seen people pay over a lot of money for modern light fittings not unlike your creation!

  11. Yes but it looks like art. So very whimsical and beautiful in its simplicity.

  12. If I had a penny for every time that has happened to me, I will buy us both a ticket to Bali to pick up our next loot. It hurts when it is gold filled because dead soft springs and bends on its own.
